Buffing up to bare all

Getting in shape for a big event like a class reunion or a wedding is one thing. But prepping for a Playboy cover definitely raises the bar a few notches.

To get Kim Kardashian buff for the December cover shoot, I developed a no-fuss training program that doesn't require any special weight-training equipment yet still is very effective.

Kim wanted to focus on her arms, legs and famous backside. So in addition to her working out on the elliptical trainer and walking every day, she followed the toning program I devised to target her hot spots. You can do it too, right at home. Here’s how:

*Lunges. Start by standing up straight with your hands at your sides. Take a big step forward with your right leg, lowering the body until your right thigh is parallel to the floor. Straighten back up and repeat on the left side. Do three sets of 10 repetitions with each leg.

*Sit-down squats. Start by standing in front of a chair and then sit down on the seat and stand back up. Do three sets of 15 reps.

*Arm and leg opposition. Start on the floor on your hands and knees. Lift the right arm up and extend the left leg back so that both are parallel to the floor. Keep your abs tight and hold for 30 seconds. Repeat with the opposite arm and leg.

*Push-ups. If you can’t do military push-ups in good form, modify your technique by pushing up from your knees. Do three sets of 10 reps.

*Triceps dips. Position yourself in front of a sturdy chair so that your arms are behind you with your palms grabbing the edge of the seat. Scoot your legs out in front. Now lower your upper body until your upper arms are parallel to the floor and then press back up. Do two sets of 12 reps.

Do this program a few times a week and you’ll be in shape for your big reveal, too – even if it’s just between you and your special someone.

This is "Health News"??  Yeah, right.

The dumbing down of news continues.

MSNBC, get your heads out of your tush!

M
boring, really, she is so not interesting. Who cares about her famous personage? And, Berkeley guy above, get over it, being from Berkeley you get all myopic- you need to see the world more and know that there are very many more things to write about. Go travel.
if you're going to bash someone, read the article throughly.  the article said:  So IN ADDITION TO her working out on the elliptical trainer and walking every day, she followed the toning program I devised to target her hot spots.  in other words, she walked, used the elliptical trainer, AND followed the toning routine.  geez, and people wonder why the u.s. is falling behind in education.  for some, this may not seem like a tough workout, but if someone is wanting to get started, it's a great starting off point.
With surgery of course u look great, dont lie saying that doing this u will have a bad ass body. Dont play with people emotions. She aint real
Give me a break!  I am female and get Playboy.  She is hot but in my standards a bit big-boned.  She has a show, Keeping Up With the Kardashians, on which she argued and agreed she would not show tits and ass...well I got the mag and she is totally nude.  Not gonna lie...I would do it too but not a good idea for a chic with a sex tape.  I am sure her father wouldn't appreciate the layout in PB.
This is news?
Depends on whether I get to be the little spoon or big spoon...
Ooooooooo, so she walked and used an elliptical on top of this "program".  Again, no wonder America has an obesity problem.

Maybe these celebrity trainers could give us specific workout programs for celebrities that are in excellent shape.  Maybe posting Christian Bale's workout program for Batman, or Jessica Biel or Ryan Reynold's workout program for Blade:Trinity will really show "regular" people all of the HARD WORK that it takes to get these bodies that celebrities have.
cant we all just get along?
